A Little Crafty (Christmas Edition)

Holidays bring out the crafty side in me.  Who am I kidding, breathing brings out the crafty side in me... but holidays give me a more focused purpose in my glue gun, glitter, and cardstock obsessions.  Here are a few things I've done this season so far... most of them are courtesy of Pinterest, or some other craft blog, with my own personal twist.

I made an Advent Calendar for Smaller Child.  Larger Child has one too, but it is Lego, and Legos are essentially teeny tiny choke balls to a 16 month old... So, I made a calendar out of Solo cups, tissue, and poster board.  Each cup has a small treat like a candy cane, a cookie, or a small toy (car, stuffed animal, etc.)  He punches through the tissue, reaches in and gets his treat every morning.  He loves it! It is now become part of the routine.  When he gets up, he walks straight too it, and waits for me to point out the correct number of the day for him to punch.

Here Smaller Child is eating his Goofy sucker her got this morning.

This was the third year I made my own Christmas cards as well.  This was the first year I did it without a template or design though.  It was pretty fun!  60 cards, all handmade by yours truly.

I also made pictures to give to both our mothers for Christmas.  The feet are SC's, the Christmas Light border is LC's thumbprints.  (Don't worry, they have both already received them, so it's okay to post.

I also made Hot Cocoa Snowmen to give out to my friends as gifts.  (Close your eyes now if you want it to be a surprise.  They turned out precious.  Baby food jars, cocoa, marshmallows, and peppermint sticks.

Add to that the Christmas decorations, and the Christmas music that has been played pretty much non stop since December 1st, and I'd say this is one Holly Jolly Household!!  (Tis the season!)
